The Pousada Solar da Rede is an impressive 18th century palace set within a 40-hectare estate with superb views over the Douro valley and river. Converted into a hotel in May 1999, the Pousada has been tastefully decorated throughout with period furniture and antiques in keeping with its original character. This well-appointed property will appeal to nature lovers, affording the opportunity for scenic walks and bird watching as well as to wine aficionados with the possibility of sampling the local port wines.

The air-conditioned cottages (consisting of a selection of standard rooms and suites – see below for the breakdown of rooms) are located within the gardens. Each room is decorated in a modern style with a rural theme and has bathroom (bath and shower), hairdryer, telephone, satellite TV and minibar •  The furthest cottage is located c.7 minutes walk from the main house (porterage service is available) •  The standard rooms will accommodate an extra bed •  The suites have a mezzanine floor. The ground floor has a lounge and a double sofa bed. The mezzanine floor has a bedroom and bathroom.
