The traditional Alentejo houses of Horta da Moura are perched on a hillside overlooking the surrounding countryside near Monsaraz, a medieval walled town inhabited since prehistoric times. The property offers the comfort of a quality rural hotel that has preserved its links with the land thanks to cattle raising and the nurturing of its orchards. It provides a friendly and personalised service that is only possible in a family-owned business. Guests can relax by the swimming pool surrounded by olive trees or, for the more active enthusiasts, there are a wide range of activities to enjoy including horse riding, tennis, cycling, walking and boat trips and water skiing in the Alqueva lake (900m). The location also lends itself to exploration of the ‘white villages’ of the Alentejo, as well as the important historic towns of Monsaraz and Evora.

The junior suites are spacious and have a designated living area with wood burning fireplace opening onto a private terrace. The junior suites can accommodate two extra beds for children • There is a bar on the first floor (serving snacks) with a terrace overlooking the countryside and, on the ground floor, a lounge with cable TV and fireplace • The restaurant serves traditional dishes complemented by a selection of regional Alentejo wines.

The open plan suites have a designated living area and have access to a shared terrace • There is a lounge with cable TV and fireplace, and a separate games room with pool table opening onto a terrace.
